pot à pommade, painted in Meissen style with a continuous coastal scene including figures and buildings, the cover with two further miniature landscapes

Condition

There are three small shallow chips under the rim of the cover, one of which is just visible on its upper surface. The rim of the pot has been restored. Through strong light under the paint, it is possible to see that a shallow chip, approximately 3mm deep and 8mm wide, has been made up and there is an associated fine crack running diagonally down through the body and curving up slightly at the end for a total of approximately 5 centimetres.
