Condition

Original canvas. There is some faint craquelure near the centre of the upper edge which appears to correspond with the stretcher bar and further faint craquelure to the raised leg and torso of the central woman. There are two faint protusions to the head and bottom of the right hand woman. The surface is intentionally textured and incised through his use of sgraffito. The work appears in good original condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no apparent signs of retouching. Held in a gilt plaster frame with a canvas inset and cream mount under glass. Please telephone the department on 0207 293 6424 if you have any questions about the present work.
