Of rectangular shape, the front and back enhanced with diaperwork, the cover further decorated with calibré-cut sapphires, the thumbpiece set with a half-moon-shaped sapphire, gross weight approximately 158 dwts, measuring approximately 4½ by 3½ by 3/8  inches, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered 65699, French assay marks.

Condition

Good condition with light scratching to the gold, bearing French obus mark and export marks. The 126 calibré-cut sapphires are medium to deep blue, some with evident color-zoning, eye-clean to lightly included. The thumpiece is a half-moon-shaped medium blue sapphire tablet, lightly included with minor abrasions.
