The rectangular case composed of reeded white gold, the sides and thumbpiece set with calibré-cut sapphires, gross weight approximately 133 dwts., measuring approximately 4 1/8  by 3 5/8  by 3/8  inches, signed Cartier, Paris, indistinct numbering.  With fitted and signed box.

Condition

The sapphires are an attractive medium blue and well matched. There are a few scratches to sapphires in the thumbpiece and one sapphire on the side of the box has a small chip. The metal shows some slight wear from normal use. Box possibly dates from 1955-60. Signed Cartier, Paris with indistinct serial number (019200?)
