Two Gold Cigarette Cases

Including a rectangular case composed of 18 karat gold in a basketweave design, the thumbpiece set with a cabochon amethyst, gross weight 116 dwts., measuring approximately 5¼ by 3 3/8  by ¼ inches, signed Cartier, Paris, Made in France, numbered 64378, French workshop mark, Circa 1945; and a 14 karat stippled gold rectangular case, the thumbpiece set with a cabochon ruby, gross weight 68 dwts., measuring approximately 3¾ by 3 1/8  by ¼ inches, signed Wetzlar.

Both are in good condition. The basketweave case has a few small dents on the lid and there is some tarnish on the interior. The Cartier signature appears on the inside rim near the thumbiece. The stippled case shows some slight wear due to normal use, the interior has some minor tarnish. The cabochon ruby thumbpiece is of pinkish-red hue. The signature appears on the side of the inside rim of the lid.
