Condition

18th century piece: silk embroidered in long couched stitch, most embroidery intact with small losses mostly near center; 2 holes in field, largest 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch; bites out of two corners; remnants of original sides and ends; small scattered light spot stains; backed with ivory cotton lining. 19th century piece: silk embroidered in long couched stitch, embroidery intact with few areas where pencil/pen design showing thus never completed; small pinholes along edges; scattered spot stains; original sides intact; no backing.
