Catalogue Note
Après des études à l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Stockholm, Arsenius s'installe à Paris puis à Chantilly où il se spécialise dans la peinture animalière, en particulier dans la représentation de chevaux, qu'il dépeint avec spontanéité et fougue.
Sa passion pour le monde du cheval lui permit de rencontrer les personnalités de l'époque pour qui il réalisa des portraits, comme l'illustre la paire de tableaux représentant le duc de Chartres à cheval vendue chez Sotheby's en 1996 (Tableaux, Mobilier et Livres appartenant à Monseigneur le Comte et Madame la Comtesse de Paris, Sotheby's Monaco, 14 et 15 décembre 1996, lot 69).
