- length: 22.5cm, 8 7/8 in.
the interior of the basin embossed with an Imperial eagle within a laurel wreath, within engraved cartouches of stylised scrolls, the prow set with a cast Imperial eagle, the rim borders and roundels engraved with Old Slavonic inscriptions: 'In 1705 this kovsh was presented to Semen Arkhipov, son of Dudin, from Kholmogory for his faithful service as a burgomaster in towns of Kholmogory and Arkhangelsk and collected 1241 rubles, by the sovereign ruler and Tsar of All Russias Petr Alekseevich', struck with maker's mark MK (Cyrillic)
