Description

  • Silver, enamel, glass
  • height of decanter: 32cm, 12 1/2 in.; diameter of tray: 28.8cm, 11 3/8 in.; height of glasses: 8.4cm, 3 1/4 in.
comprising: a decanter, six glasses and tray, the bulbous form red glass decanter with silver hemispherical base pierced with stylized intertwining dragons amidst blue, green, red and white enamelled foliate sprays, the spreading foot with varicoloured geometric and entrelac bands, rope twist rim, the collar and stopper similarly decorated, the scroll handle formed as a dragon, the shaped circular tray lacquered in red, the silver mounted glasses with geometric and stylised floral bands enamelled in red, blue, gree and white, 88 standard

Condition

Tray: there are losses to the lacquered surface. The enamel is in good overall condition. Carafe: in very good condition. Glasses: one glass is a modern replacement. There is variation to the colour of the glass insert suggesting that some are later replacements. A very attractive and rare set in good overall condition consistent with age and use.
