Condition
Original canvas. There is a tear in the upper half, approx. 7cm long. There are stretcher marks visible 4.5 cm from each edge and the unpainted left and right edges of the canvas are visible. There is a layer of surface dirt and the varnish is slightly discoloured. There are two flecks of paint loss near the upper edge. There is abrasion to the lower edge and there are lines of crackileure in places. UV light reveals a layer of discoloured varnish and no apparent signs of retouching. Held in a bronze painted plaster frame. Unexamined out of frame.
