Catalogue Note

Hollandais par sa mère, Richter étudie d'abord à la Haye puis à Anvers, avant de s'installer à Paris où il est élève d'Hébert et de Bonnat. A partir de 1883, il peint des sujets orientalistes au Maroc, en Algérie et en Egypte privilégiant les éclairages forts et contrastés.
