A street in Cairo: the watercolour is in good overall condition; the photography is slightly paler than the watercolour itself; several foxings are scattered over the surface and especially visible in the sky; no tear visible under naked eyes Moumayed sultan mosque: the watercolour appears in a very good overall condition; the photography is slighlty paler than the watercolour itself; a few minor foxings are visible in the sky. Both watercolours are in their original frame

Catalogue Note

Crapelet partit pour l'Egypte en 1852 et n'en revint qu'en 1854 après avoir parcouru la Haute et la Basse Egypte, et remonté le Nil jusqu'à la troisième cataracte. Il a exposé régulièrement au Salon de Paris, de 1849 à 1866, principalement des vues d'Egypte.
