Condition
Dial and movement probably associated; later seat board and with battens to the top of the uprights at join with seat board; the domed top to hood appears to be later added; finials later; scarlet-japanned surface refreshed but retaining much of the original painted surface to sides and in places; door to case with a large 5-inch x 5-inch square patch to the center where oculus window probably originally was placed to see the pendulum; the decoration to the door later; the plinth base possibly later; overall with small chips and losses and age cracks to decoration of case with extensive areas of inpainting.
