Description

  • rim of cover, finial mount and rim of stand with mark for small work Paris, 1717-22, also with later French swan control
  • silver, porcelain
  • diameter of stand 6 7/8 in.
  • 17.4 cm
painted in underglaze blue, iron red and gilt with baskets and branches of prunus, the silver rim of the cup chased with running leaves agains a matted ground, the cover with bud finial centering radiating lobes, saucer with gadrooned rim.

Condition

Porcelain: There is minor wear to the gilding. The cover has a minor chip to the exterior. The dish has been covered on both sides with a clear thin layer of some type of shellac, which is flaking on the underside, suggesting the possibility of restoration. There is a small hairline crack to the interior. Silver: good condition
