Description

  • the saucers with gilt Slavonic Imperial cypher of Nicholas II dated 1896, 1900, 1902, and 1903, three saucers also with green Imperial cypher of Alexander III; the cups with gilt Slavonic Imperial cypher of Nicholas II dated 1895, 1899, 1901, and 1902, one with green Imperial cypher of Alexander III, another with green Imperial cypher of Nicholas II dated 1902

both cup and saucer polychrome painted with Neo-classical motifs, the cup with classical vignettes en grisaille against an iron red ground within an octagonal frame alternating with similar vignettes against a celadon green ground, the saucers with a white central reserve surrounded by nine radiating panels with grotesques and foliage against cream and turquoise grounds, the rims and feet gilded.
