the first in the form of a house, the pitched roof flanked by a pair of chimneys, the front inset with glass panels painted in trompe l'oeil to be windows, the right side fitted with three graduated drawers lined with paper, the uppermost compartmentalized; the other in the form of a house, the hinged pitched roof centered by a chimney flanked by a pair of dormers and opening to a shallow compartment fitted with marbleized paper, the right side of the case fitted with a drawer.  Together with a key and a small metal bracket.

Condition

The large one in overall good condition; losses to the arch above the lunette window to the front door; small chip and wear to the back right bottom corner; overall with some old marks, scratches and bruises. The smaller one height 6 in.; width 6 1/4 in.; depth 4 1/4 in. (15.2 cm; 15.9 cm; 10.8 cm) Overall good condition; the painted surface in tact with some small chips and losses to paint and with some inpainting to the right dormer and in some other small places, possibly around the front door; some wear and rubbing especially to corners.
