Description

  • diameter of plate 11 in.
  • 28 cm
painted in the center with two caterpillars and a butterfly with two flower specimens within an elaborate scroll border picked out in gilding, the saucer similarly decorated.

Condition

The dish is in good condition with some typical rubbing and wear to the gilding particularly around the cavetto. There are one or two very minor chips to the bottom edge of the foot. The saucer has two shallow 1/4 in. chips to the rim edge. The gilding is almost entirely rubbed away.
