Condition
The first: Study of two Shepherds: The sheet has been carefully presented and preserved. The sheet has not been laid down and is attached to the present mount at the sheet edges. There are a few very minor foxmarks and there is an area of minor water damage at the right hand edge of the sheet. There is a soft crease in the lower left hand section of the sheet, this can only be seen from the reverse or on very close inspection. The medium has remained strong and clear. The second: Portrait of The Reverend Thomas Thomas (1759-1819): The sheet has been well presented. The sheet is laid down onto another similar sheet and this may have been done by the artist himself. There is surface dirt and light staining overall with minor foxing at the sheet edges (but not on the image itself). The medium is strong and clear but evidently slightly faded.
