Catalogue Note

Early in his career, Nicaraguan artist Armando Morales painted still lives of fruit, mainly pears and apples, such as the present oil. These works are imbued with a sensuality evocative of the human body that leads naturally into the larger scale female nudes that appear often in his iconography.
