Catalogue Note

Gorham's Martelé records indicate that Meat Platters PBS, PBT, PBU and PBT were all completed between 4-10 October 1917.  The name of the chaser(s) has not been recorded but silversmith Alexander MacBeth was responsible for the raising of all four platters in one-hundred-and-four hours.  The chasing required an additional two-hundred-and-thirty-five and one-half hours.  The net factory price of this group was $752 at the time of completion (See Larry Pristo, Martelé 950-1000 Fine Gorham's Art Nouveau Silver,  p. 396).
