Catalogue Note

According to Gorham's records as reproduced by Larry Pristo in Martelé Gorham's Nouveau Art Silver, p. 395, this plate service is listed as being completed on 25 September 1917. Although the names of the maker and chaser have not been identified, we do know the pieces were completed with a making time of one hundred and eighty-six hours and a chasing time of four hundred and eighty-hours.  The net factory cost was $ 1,200.00 for sixteen plates.
