Catalogue Note

According to Gorham's records as reproduced by Larry Pristo in Martelé Gorham's Nouveau Art Silver, p 425,526., this six piece tea and coffee set is listed as being completed on 6 December 1909, with a collective making time of three hundred and forty-two hours; the coffee pot comprising of seventy-eight of those hours, the creamer forty, the kettle, one hundred and forty-two, the wastebowl thirty-two, the sugar bowl fifty-two, and the tea pot seventy-eight. The only known maker of these pieces was Alexander MacBeth, responsible for the kettle.

The chasing on these items took a collective time of three hundred and ninety-eight hours; the coffee pot comprising of sixty-eight hours and thirty minutes by Harry Heath, the creamer forty by Otto Colmetz, the kettle one hundred and thirteen by Harry Heath, the wastebowl thirty-eight hour and a thirty minutes by Otto Colmetz, the sugar bowl sixty by Edward Zior, and the tea pot seventy-eight by Otto Colmetz..  An additional hour and fifteen minutes of casting chasing was done by Ernest W. Regester for the coffee pot, kettle,sugar bowl, and tea pot.  The net factory cost for the whole set was $980.00.
