the later inset tooled leather writing surface with the coat of arms of the Counts Schaffgotsch, each side with a short frieze drawer
Provenance
Acquired from Galerie Beisac, Wiesbaden
Condition
Impressive and in good restored condition. The later leather top covers a seperation. The gilt-bronze has been re-lacquered and as a result has a dull appearance. Some of the swags have been re-attached and there are new securing screws at these sites, however this strengthening is only visible when the piece is turned upside down. Replaced lock mechanism. Very minor losses to veneers. No makers mark, which is suprising as it is of some quality.
