Catalogue Note
In 1816 Natale Schiavoni accepted an invitation from Emperor Franz I to take up residency at court in Vienna. He stayed there until 1821, successfully painting the Imperial family and the aristocracy. His contemporaries referred to him as 'Pittore delle grazie' for his charming female portraits.
