- 'SMALL CAR/BOX'
- gelatin silver print with hand ink work
with ink handwork on the image, mounted, signed and dated in pencil on the reverse, framed, a Holly Solomon Gallery, New York, label on the reverse, 1975
Condition
This early print, on paper with a pebbled texture and mounted to a cream-colored board, is in generally excellent condition. Upon close examination the following are visible: faint pencil impressions, possibly in the shape of a box, to the right of the left edge of the image; and a one-and-3/4-inch horizontal scratch that does not break the emulsion in the central portion of the image.
On the reverse of the mount, there is a small white label with inventory number 'WW 374' in ink and pencil. '5470' is written in pencil on the reverse. There is graphite rubbing on the reverse of the mount. Along the upper edge are two small linen hinge remnants.
There is a Holly Solomon Gallery, New York, label on the reverse of the frame. The credit, title, medium ('ink on photograph'), date, and inventory number ('ww 374') is written in ink.
