Condition

These prints are in generally very good to excellent condition. Embrace #60 (14 3/8 by 21 1/4 in.) - This large print, on double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is also annotated in Japanese in the margin. When examined in raking light, the following are visible: 3 sharp, crescent-shaped handling creases that do not appear to break the emulsion and several soft, rounded indentations in the sitters' bodies. Additionally, there are two small sharp handling creases in the upper and lower margins. Embrace #29 (6 1/4 by 9 1/2 in.) - This print, on double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. When examined in raking light, slight silvering is visible at the periphery, as well as tiny deposits of original retouching. Man and Woman #24 (6 by 9 7/8 in.) - This print is on double-weight paper with a pebbled surface. There are creases in the upper margin corners. There are soft handling creases in the lower margin. These do not affect the image in any way. The photographer has included both the negative and print dates on the reverse, and the reverse of the print is annotated 'For F. O. P.'s [Friends of Photography's] Collectors Print Program.'
