Description
- Virgin and Child in half-relief
- partially polychromed limestone, on a metal base
Condition
There is overall wear and some dirt consistent with age. The surface has been cleaned. The possibly later polychromy has largely worn off. There are chips and losses including to the base, crown, head of the bird and the Virgin's right little finger. The head of the Virgin has been reattached. There are restorations to both noses and the base. Otherwise the condition of the stone is stable.
The Virgin is held up by a metal rod attached to the base and screwed in to the reverse of the group. The condition of the metal base is good.
