Condition
Relining is firm and stable. there is excellent retention of the paint surface and detail is well preserved throughout. examination with ultraviolet light reveals some retouching along the upper edge and upper right. there is a retouching over a small vertical repaired tear or scratch in bottom of arch and top of column at center; a small retouch in lower left corner, and a repaired horizontal tear or scratch in wood paneling at lower right just to the left of the two figures at right side. otherwise there is very little, just a few scattered and minor retouches here and there. there is no need for further work and painting can be hung as is.
In a dark ebony finish wood frame.
