From a first-hand inspection a light horizontal scratch (cm 8) is visible in the centre along the lower edge, there is a small loss over the lower right hand side corner where is missing an old label and a tiny tear in the lower left hand side.The ultra violet light reveals light fluorescent varnish and some retouches in the top left hand side corner along the edge, over the sky in the centre (cm 0,5 x 0,5), other tiny ones over the sky on the right hand side, a retouch (cm 2x2) over the right hand side top corner, three retouches over the lower right hand side corner and other two over the left one, one (cm 1x0,5) in along the left hand side edge in the centre. Some spots of retouch is visible over the mountains on the left hand side, an old one (cm 1x1) over the cow's muzzle and another (cm 1x0,4) on the right hand side of the tail, both done to cover old losses. Ad un primo esame si nota un leggero graffio orizzontale di cm 8 al centro in basso lungo il bordo, nell'angolo inferiore destro una piccola perdita di materia in corrispondenza di una vecchia etichetta non più presente ed un piccolo strappo di qualche millimetro nell'angolo inferiore sinistro.L'esame alla lampada di Wood evidenzia vernice debolmente fluorescente ed alcuni ritocchi in alto nell'angolo superiore sinistro lungo bordo superiore, nel cielo al centro (cm 0,5 x 0,5), altri puntiformi nel cielo in alto a destra, un ritocco di cm 2x2 nell'angolo superiore destro, tre ritocchi puntiformi sopra l'angolo inferiore sinistro e altri due nell'angolo inferiore sinostro, uno di cm 1x0,5 al centro del bordo sinistro. Qualche ritocco puntiforme è visibile sulle montagne a sinistra. Un vecchio ritocco di cm 1x1 sul muso della mucca e uno di cm 1x0,4 a destra dell'attaccatura della coda entrambe a coprire due vecchie cadute di materia.
