Description
- Abraham Bloemaert
- a Landscape with ruins, with the rape of Ganymede
- oil on canvas
Condition
The canvas has a firm relining.
The paint surface is rather flat and a little dirty, though its detail is well-preserved and there are no damages apparent.
Inspection under UV light reveals a handful of scattered spot retouchings and strengthenings. Ganymede and Jupiter in the upper right hand corner have been fairly extensively retouched, but large passages of the foreground seem to remain untouched.
Offered in a nothern-style stained wood frame in good condition, with a few knocks.
