Condition
STRUCTURE
The canvas has been lined.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be in good condition. There is no apparent damage or loss of paint except to the lower centre as can be seen in the catalogue illustration, and in the upper left where there is a minor flake of paint missing. There is evidence of a thick layer of discoloured varnish overall.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light confirms the opacity of the varnish which makes further inspection difficult.
FRAME
Held in a splendid baroque giltwood frame.
