Condition
The stable, flat support consists of three horizontal panels and is bevelled on all sides.
The paint surface is secure though rather abraded and flat, under an old varnish.
Two panel joins are visible on the surface os the painting, and some delicate retouching work at points long these joins can be made out with the naked eye.
Inspection under UV light confirms these retouchings and further reveals a handful of very small scattered retouchings to the background upper centre and the fruit. Proper inspection with UV light is impeded by the layer of reflective varnish. However, some older retouchings to the peaches and grapes lower left can be made out.
Offered in a gilt wood and plaster frame in good condition, though rubbed.
