Catalogue Note

A pupil of Jan van Huysum and Bernard Picart, Dubourg was an active member of one of the various drawing academies that flourished in early 18th-century Amsterdam.  A number of large-scale red chalk figure drawings by him are known:  two examples dated 1723 and 1726, rather in the manner of Picart, are in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.1
