Frans van Mieris the Younger

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The oak panel is cradled and the paint layer is stable and flat. Under ultraviolet light the remains of and old varnish can be detected in areas across the surface. No significant retouching can be seen. The painting is in very good original and untouched condition. The removal of the varnish layer would enhance the colours and overall tonality. Offered in a gilt wood frame in good condition."
