Condition

The support consists of three flat and stable vertical panels which have been cradled to the reverse. The signed and dated paint surface is clean and secure and to the naked eye appears in good condition. The brushtrokes and impasto are well preserved in the face, lace and shirt. The panel joins can be made out on the recto. Inspection under UV light confirms the good condition with very minor strengthenings in the hair, lower left and along the right panel join. Overall in good, clean, original condition. Offered in a rippled ebonised frame with some surface scuffs.
