Although many of the colours in this work have remained strong, several of the more delicate pigments have faded slightly. The paper has suffered from very minor discolouration and there is a brown line, associated with an old mount, at the upper edge of the sheet. This work has not been laid down.

Professor Geoffrey Emett Blackman, a previous owner of this work, formed a well known watercolours and drawings collection. Upon his death he bequeathed it to St. Cross College, Oxford.
