Catalogue Note

Dating from circa 1750 this drawing is likely to depict St. Mary's Church in the village of Beddington. Jonathan Skelton was a frequent vistor to the area, as his major patron Archbishop William Herring lived only a few miles away at Addington Palace. Dying at such a young age, Skelton's works are rarely to be found on the market or in such fine condition.
