- Three Illustrations of Flowers from the Herbier Général de l'Amateur
All gouache and watercolour over black chalk with gum arabic on vellum, with double framing lines in brown ink and gold;
all signed in brown ink lower left: P. Bessa.
Condition
All are framed. All are laid down with the mount glued down on top.
The sheet with the purple flower has a small light brown stain towards the left hand side of the framed flower, just beside the leaf.
The flower with blue petals - the vellum has a few tiny brown spots at the left margin, outside the framed flower.
The vellum in all three drawings has undulated slightly.
