Relined. The picture is now dirty and the varnish layer degraded, but the paint surface appears very well preserved throughout, with only slight signs of wear in the flesh tones. The only significant damage is an old repaired 4 x 4 repair just under the Sibyl's lower wrist and to the finger above, and there is a very minor (1 x1 cm) old loss in her other hand and some scattered retouchings to the background to the left. This lot is sold with a later gilt wood frame, which has been repainted in parts.
