Catalogue Note

Used for the drying and stretching of wool cloth, the Tiratoio delle Grazie was the largest of eight such establishments owned by Florence's Wool Guild at the end of the fifteenth century. It was demolished in the early nineteenth century to make way for the present Palazzo della Borsa, home to the Chamber of Commerce and the stock exchange.
