Anonymous sale, London, Sotheby's, 15 December 1982, lot 8, where acquired by the late husband of the present owner.
Condition
The canvas has been heavily relined. The painting is not in good condition,having suffered badly from wear throughout, but especially in the sky and water. There has been considerable restoration to try and improve these areas. The central areas are much better preserved with only local intervention and strengthenings.
This lot is offered with a modern stained wood frame with gilt sight edge in good condition.
