STRUCTURE
The canvas has a firm lining.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be in good condition, with no apparent extant damage or loss of paint.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals scattered minor flecks of retouching in the tails of the sitter's coat and in the sky, upper right.
FRAME
Held in a carved and gilded Carlo Marratta style frame.
