Condition
The paint surface is under a clean varnish. Color and detail are beautifully preserved throughout. A fine craquelure which is not distracting runs throughout. This exceptional still life can be hung as is.
Ultraviolet light reveals scattered retouching in the white background, and some minute retouching in the bird and netting in the upper right. Retouching along all four sides is due to previous framing conditions. This picture is in very recommendable condition.
