The catalogue illustration is representative. The canvas has a recent relining which is stable. The paint surface is generally in a good state of preservation and has been recently cleaned. The central part of the painting is almost untouched by any damages though at the periphery there are a number of restored damages. At the extreme lower centre and the extreme upper centre there are two similar restored damages approximately 2.5 by 2.5 cm. each, there is thin line of restoration running from the centre right down towards the lower centre. There is a restoration to the sleeve of Saint Joseph, another to the background just above Christ’s head, but otherwise nothing of any importance. Sold in a fine carved and gilt wood frame.
