Condition
The canvas is not lined. the surface of the work is in overall good condition. There are some minute frame abrasions. Under UV; no apparent inpainting.

Catalogue Note
With some exceptions as the present painting, Kyhn is mainly known as a landscape painter. From 1836-1844, Kyhn is a student of C. W. Eckersberg at the Royal Academy. He was awarded the silver medal from the Royal Academy in 1841 and the Neuhausens Prize in 1845. He went on a tour, visiting Italy, France, Holland, Belgium, and Germany and returned to Copenhagen by 1851. In 1870, he became a member of the Royal Academy. He opened a private drawing school in which he notably taught Anna Ancher. In 1882 he became a member of the Royal Academy in Stockholm.
