There are a few marks to the polished surface, which may be inherent to the cast. There are two tiny dents to the right hand edge of the unstrung section. Catalogue Note

Mincarlo: Three Curves with Strings belongs to the last decade of Hepworth's career, in which she continued to explore key themes throughout her work, while also finding new and unexpected sources of inspiration to create a genuine late style. In the present work, Hepworth continues her preoccupation with the curved form in a medium she did not use often, and combines it with string - a technique she first innovatively employed in 1939 - to create a dynamic, evocative piece of enduring power.

The present work will be recorded in the forthcoming Hepworth catalogue raisonné as BH520.
