The rectangular case applied with red enamel decorated at front with a scenic Japanese landscape, the top and bottom applied with black enamel, accented by a small bands of rose-cut diamonds, the thumbpiece set with a pearl, supporting a black ribbon strap suspending a circular charm applied with red and black enamel and a diamond-set monogram, the interior fitted with a mirror, gross weight approximately 109 dwts., measuring approximately 3¼ by 2 1/8 by ¾ inches, signed LaCloche Frères, numbered 2286, French assay marks, three diamonds missing. With fitted box.
Condition
Signed LaCloche Freres on front inner lip with French marks on mirror frame. Diamonds are of decorative quality. With British hallmarks for 18 karat gold and platinum, circa 1922 (faint letters), on inside of box underneath mirror import marks (oval) for France, numbered 2286, with French assay marks. Mirror damaged, converted at some point, lipstick taken out, minor enamel damage, ribbon holder frayed. With fitted box signed John Jaffe Antiques, Regent Street London. In good condition overall.
