Description

  • jadeite, seed pearl, pendant
The carved jadeite plaque depicting a bat and double gourds in a foliate design measuring approximately 53.7 by 39.9 by 9.2 mm., supported by a jadeite bead measuring approximately 11.2 mm.,accented by numerous seed pearls.

Condition

The jade plaque is intricately pierced and carved. Moderate color mottling, enhanced by the intricate carving. The color is slightly less blue than pictured in the printed catalogue. The pearls are a creamy silver color, most are off-round, with waxy to good clarity. There is fraying to the string and loss of a few tiny seed pearls on one of the spherical connectors, otherwise in good condition, especially considering the age.
