Platinum, Demantoid Garnet and Diamond Brooch, Circa 1910

The lozenge-shaped brooch of openwork design set in the center with a cushion-shaped demantoid garnet, framed by old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.05 carats, pin stem detachable, with retractable pendant loop.

Accompanied by GIA report no. CS 45019 stating Natural Andradite Demantoid Garnet, no gemological evicence of heat, clarity enhancement: none, measuring approximately 11.2 by 8.7 by 6.80 mm., weighing approximately 5.25 carats.The demantoid is a medium, slighly yellowish green and lively. There is a scratch on the table and some slight abraiding to some of the facet junctions. The diamonds are F-G color and VS-SI clarity predominantly. In very good condition. May be worn as a pendant as the pin stem detaches and there is a pendant loop.
