Set in the center with a cushion-shaped ruby weighing 10.00 carats, flanked by old mine diamonds weighing approximately 4.40 carats, partial maker's mark for Chaumet, French assay marks. With fitted box signed J. Chaumet, the front stamped Anne.
Condition
Accompanied by Gübelin report no. 1011273 stating that the ruby is of Burmese origin, no indications of heating. Together with notes from Gübelin stating that the ruby possesses the properties of Burmese rubies from the Mogok Valley. Also accompanied by Laboratoire Francaise de Gemmologie report no. 192653 stating that the ruby is of Burmese origin, no indication of thermal enhancement. Ruby of deep purple red color, moderately included. Of very nice shape and outline and very good spread, with minor chip to girdle and a few nicks to facet junctions. Diamonds are approximately H to J color, mostly SI clarity (one I clarity). With some surface scratches to platinum mounting. In good condition. Please note that the brooch is accompanied by GRS report no. GRS2010-110965 stating that the ruby is of Burmese origin, no indications of thermal treatment and 'pigeon's blood' type.
